Decluttering your Garage

The garage is often the one room of the house that becomes a bit of a dumping ground. Rather than being of any use, it is often a place where old forgotten items languish, and the room people only go into when they want to add to this hoard!

If you want to make the most of the garage – make it a good place to store your car again, a place where kids can play, treat it to some new doors, maybe from this garage doors Bristol based company, you probably want to have a declutter but are a little overwhelmed by where you should start!

The first thing that you need to do is sort out the stuff that is in there. It may be better to do this in bitesize chunks of time rather than in one go, as this is what will make you feel more overwhelmed, especially if it is very full! Sort items into three groups – one group are to keep, one group you can sell and one group to throw away or recycle.

Once you have done this, it is time to get rid of the items that are rubbish – if you have a lot, it may be a good idea to hire a skip, put the other items up for sale, and consider how you will store the items that you will be keeping.

One great solution to storage is garage shelving and racking that can store a lot of items without taking too much floorspace. It is worth looking into garage shelving ideas, as there are a wide range of ingenious ideas, and you are sure to find one to suit you.
