Set up your cleaner the right way to get the best results from your cleaning tasks and extend the life of your cleaner. Take your time to go through the steps below.
Choose a Stable, Ventilated Spot
The cleaner should be positioned on a firm, level surface and placed well away from the edge of the workbench. Some ultrasonic cleaning solutions can produce vapour during use, so the area should have reasonable ventilation, a window or extractor fan being sufficient for most workshops.
Fill to the Correct Water Level
Fill the tank with clean water (deionised water is ideal) up to the minimum and maximum fill lines on the inside of the tank. Filling below the minimum fill line will decrease the cleaning effectiveness and potentially cause damage to the transducers. Filling above the maximum fill line can result in parts getting splashed when loaded into the basket.
Add Your Cleaning Solution
The recommended concentration of the solution in the water varies between products and should be referred to on the label of the cleaning fluid.

Many ultrasonic cleaners now come with an empty operation for degassing the water. Most machines have a special degas operation which will churn out the air as a froth of bubbles across the surface of the water.
Set Temperature and Timer
The recommended working temperature for metals, plastics and other instruments is between 40 °C and 60 °C. e. 10 to 20 minutes for average soiled items. Reference your model for specific information on time and temperature.
Load Parts in the Basket
When placing your items to be cleaned in the basket, make sure to leave some space between them in order to allow for optimal cavitation between all surfaces. Never place parts directly on the bottom of the tank as this can cause damage.
